Shotcrete is a practical, effective, and economical facing material. It is a cementitious material that is sprayed at a high velocity onto a surface, in this case soil or rock. GeoBuild often uses shotcrete as a facing material, combined with passive reinforcement elements such as soil nails or rock anchors. Shotcrete is reinforced with welded-wire mesh (WWM) and typically contains reinforcing waler bars that are placed around soil nail heads for additional strength.
Shotcrete can be utilized for both permanent solutions, such as slope stabilizations, retaining walls, or for temporary construction shoring. It is a versatile technique that will protect people and infrastructure for years to come.
Most shotcrete applications involve a “rough-gun” finish. However, if a more aesthetic surface finish is requested, GeoBuild can work with our trusted partners for artistic design and finishing work that provides a decorative surface detail.
