Rock anchors, also known as rock bolts, are secured steel bars that are inserted into a drilled hole through the unstable rock back to a sound rock mass. They can be secured utilizing grout, mechanical forces, or polyester resin. Rock anchors reinforce fractured rock masses and can be used to secure anchored mesh or other facing materials.
As a design-build contractor, we can quickly assess the rock strength, degree of weathering, and bedding/fracture geometry. From there, GeoBuild develops a plan for installation that addresses access challenges associated with working on rock slopes (steep access, limited staging area, etc.), a proper installation methodology, all while keeping safety of the installers and general public at the forefront of any operation.
